Develop working prototypes of user interface designs for evaluation and feedback with the team leading to a public pilot of the software beginning Fall 22. The candidate will work closely with the Lab design team, technology director, and strategist. The role requires the freelancer to work on-site in Brooklyn. Final deliverables will be property of the Cartier Retail Innovation Lab.

Requirements

Must-haves
Bachelor’s or higher degree in design, computer science or a combination of relevant education, experience and training
4+ years experience in UX design
Competent skills in design development within an IDE
Familiar with applying touch interface and human-centered design methods
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate a problem space
Familiarity with Agile design and development methodologies
A strong sense of aesthetic and a desire to achieve a top-quality finished product

Nice-to-haves
Experience conducting user research and behavioral analysis on UX
Experienced in multidisciplinary environments across strategy, industrial design, digital product design, mechanical engineering and computer technology
Experience on projects in retail, hospitality, or public spaces like museums

Scope of Work

Craft working prototypes, functional concept wireframes
Review and validate the current status of iOS/mobile-first application design
Maintain and update user journey documentation while respecting workflows around tech constraints
Apply touch interface conventions and work with software development team to validate design specs and assets
Validate design solutions, conduct usability testing and contributed to identification of success metrics for the application
Confirm UX development goals align with timeline for deliverables

Deliverables
Design and validate Fall 2022 software features
Facilitate and contribute to Spring 2023/2.0 UX strategy
Develop software feature roadmap for Spring 2023/2.0 application
