For their first major marketing campaign, “Did You Mean MailChimp?”, the agency proposed a creative direction that playfully built upon the 2014 audio ad for the podcast Serial, where a listener mispronounced MailChimp as “MailKimp?”.
The campaign took the form of a collection of cultural activations, including a hit single (MailShrimp), a fashion trend (MaleCrimp), and a new brand of potato chips (FaiChips), amongst others, all with only one thing in common: they all sounded like “MailChimp.”
